Tabora League for Children (TLC) - Health Care for orphans and vulnerable children and their families in Tabora, Tanzania

Water

Water from all sources, especially the street taps, is contaminated and needs filtering or boiling. Boiling is too expensive in fuel for our children's families so we distribute locally made filter buckets

Malaria

All new children joining TLC receive a mosquito net. New nets are distributed when needed.
Sick children are tested for malaria and given medicine where appropriate.

HIV AIDs

Free tests are offered to all TLC guardians and children.
Children with the disease are monitored, and given extra food as needed. Sole carers with the disease also receive help as needed.

Sex Education sessions are held with TLC children and young adults in age apropriate groups.

Routine Health and Emergencies

If children are sick they are taken for a diagnosis and given treatment.
Severe cuts and broken limbs receive immediate medical attention.

Disabilities and long term health issues

TLC does its best to get children seen by appropriate specialists, using the best hospitals in Tanzania.

Dental care

Tooth brushes and paste are regularly distributed.
Visit to the dentist for extraction are arranged when needed.
